Achi Sehat, Behtar Kal: RMLF Brings Lifesaving Healthcare to the Doorsteps of South Kashmir’s Remote Communities

Introduction
The Rehman Mehmooda Lifeline Foundation (RMLF), in collaboration with Govt.Medical College Anantnag and Amal Hospital Anantnag organised a free medical camp at Halpora, Kokernag, reaffirming its commitment to improving healthcare access in remote areas of South Kashmir.
In this initiative, the Education Department of Anantnag, under the leadership of ZEO Vailoo, collaborated by providing the venue for the programme at Government Middle School Chitranzi (Zone Vailoo). The initiative was highly appreciated by the ZEO, who personally oversaw and monitored the event.
The camp witnessed an encouraging response from local residents, who availed themselves of free medical consultations and medicines. The primary focus of the camp was on screening and managing chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and respiratory issues.
A dedicated team of doctors from GMC Anantnag conducted thorough check-ups, provided expert consultations, and prescribed appropriate treatments. Free medicines were distributed to the patients on the spot, ensuring immediate relief and care.

Local resident, Bashir Ahmed, lauded the organisers for their impactful initiative. “Bringing essential health services to our doorstep is truly commendable. We hope such camps become a regular feature,” he added.
Local residents expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organisers for their service, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in addressing their healthcare needs.
Arising State,a Jammu based daily English newspaper also joined hands and partnered in the initiative. The organisers reiterated their resolve to strengthen rural healthcare and continue engaging in efforts that uplift community well-being.
